Phillip Island Motorsport History

Phillip Island is steeped in history of Australian Motoracing.  A circuit composed of the Island’s interior roads was used for the original Australian Grand Prix in 1928 and continued to be used until 1935.  In 1952 construction of the Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit was commenced, but it was closed in the late 1970s.  It was later redeveloped and reopened in 1989 to host the International Australian Motorcycle GP.

Our 1 Day Phillip Island Tour and 2 Day Phillip Island and Great Ocean Road Tour both include a stop at the MotoGP Track.  Why don’t you book your tour today to hear more about the history of Phillip Island and the Grand Prix track today?
