Family fun at the Phillip Island Wildlife Park
Phillip Island is an animal lover’s absolute paradise! “Philly”, as it’s affectionately known, is home to some of Australia’s most adorable animals, including large colonies of little penguins and fur seals. Whether you’re watching the little pengus waddle up the shore, seeing the seals laze about and frolic on Seal Rocks or chilling with koalas at the Koala Conservation Reserve, Phillip Island certainly has a lot of curious creatures to see!
One of the best ways to get up close and personal with some of Australia’s most unique wildlife is at the Phillip Island Wildlife Park. The park is home to over 100 different animal species, including everything from kangaroos to emus, koalas and echidnas!
This is the perfect place for a family fun day, as visitors have the opportunity to hand feed and pat kangaroos and wallabies, as well as see awesome flightless birds like the tempestuous cassowary.
The Phillip Island Wildlife Park is the perfect way to kick off your Phillip Island animal adventure which, of course, should also include these wonderful activities…

The world famous Penguin Parade
The Penguin Parade holds a very special place in the hearts of island visitors: it’s a joyous happening that makes you absolutely stoked with the natural world! Every evening, at sundown, Phillip Island’s colony of little penguins come waddling up the shore after a long and arduous day’s fishing, creating an unforgettable spectacle for locals and travellers alike!
The Penguin Parade runs throughout the year, but plan ahead if you have kids – it can get very chilly in the winter but the penguins don’t come in until later in summer – so you have to decide which is the best option for your fam!

See lazy seals
Phillip Island’s Seal Rocks has that name for a reason: they are home to a giant colony of some 25,000 fur seals! Located just around the corner from the Penguin Parade, Seal Rocks provides an unrivalled opportunity to see these charismatic creatures lazing about and frolicking in the water. It’s the perfect, pre-parade activity for travellers and families.

See koalas at the conservation reserve
The Koala Conservation Reserve is dedicated to providing a safe haven for what is possibly the world’s most adorable tree chiller. Visitors are able to learn all about koalas while viewing them from a treetop boardwalk in their natural habitat!
