Phillip Island is one of Victoria’s best day trip destinations.

For a chance to see natural beauty in Phillip Island, the Nobbies Centre offers good scenery and a range of unique wildlife. After you cross the bridge to Phillip Island, the drive to the Nobbies Centre is about 20 minutes. The Nobbies Centre is located at the end of Ventor Road at 1320 Ventor Road, Summerlands, Victoria 3922.

When the Nobbies Centre is open

The Nobbies Centre is open daily between 10 AM and 5 PM. When visiting during the holiday seasons or public holidays, you may want to set aside extra time at the centre, as it’s busy during these times.

There are several ways to get to Phillip Island and the Nobbies Centre.

  • By car

Driving is one of the best ways to get to the Nobbies Centre. The drive from Melbourne is under two hours, and parking is free at the Nobbies Centre.

  • Public transport

Public transport is very limited to get to Phillip Island, with no direct option to reach the Nobbies Centre. There is a V/Line coach to get to Phillip Island that runs daily but has limited services.

  • Tour

Taking a tour is a great option to see Phillip Island with a stop at the Nobbies Centre. Tours depart from Melbourne and take you down towards Phillip Island with stops along the way.

  • Taxi

Another way to get around Phillip Island is by taxi. However, it will be costly to get from Melbourne to Phillip Island by taxi.

What to see at the Nobbies Centre

  • Boardwalk

Follow the boardwalk and enjoy the scenery of the area. You’ll pass the rugged coastline and have the chance to stop at the lookout points.

  • Fur seals at Seal Rocks

Right by the Nobbies Centre is Seal Rocks where you’ll come across the resident Australian fur seals. These seals love to play about the rocks and splash around in the water.

  • Nobbies Cafe

From the Nobbies Cafe, you’ll have a view overlooking the Bass Strait as you enjoy a delicious meal, dessert, or drink. The Nobbies Cafe offers a great selection of sustainably caught seafood or you can opt for a burger.
